Fate Stay Night

Fate Stay Night is a 24 part Anime series developed by Studio Deen and directed by Yuji Yamaguchi. It is taken from a visual Novel by Type-Moon which was originally developed as a adult game for PC.

As well as this TV series there has been a Manga and a more toned down PS2 version of the game as well as a full length anime feature.

Here we look at the introduction to the series and how easy it is to get in to (as many anime sometimes overload you with story overload and Characters from the start) ,Not that I'm stupid or anything but I do like to be eased into things at a reasonable pace but not as to bore me.

The story is quite simple and one that harks back to legends of old, Every so many years (at this moment in time it's been ten years) there is a tournament so to speak in a quest to attain the treasure of treasures ,The Holy Grail'' ( now your interested ,are you not) Seven people with a hidden ability or known ability of Magic or spiritual power will fight to attain the Holy Grail.

To help them fight each will have the ability to summon a servant of heroic status from the past. Many of these Servants are legendary heroes who now go by another name. Now the summoners known as the Masters share a Talisman burned into there skin .It's these talisman and there powers which give control to the masters to control the servants.

The Servants will fight each-other until one is left standing in a bid to win the Grail. Now being that the Servants are far more powerful then the masters ,it's often that the Servants will attack other masters and kill them in a bid to vanquish other servants .

But when a young man named Shiro Emiya suddenly becomes involved in the quest ,it is quite obvious Shiro is totally oblivious of what about to happen.

Shiro was brought up by his father who had magical powers of which Shiro shares but only in a novice element . Shiro has always stated he will fight for justice and help people in need, after his fathers passing he inherits his fathers grand house and tries to live a normal life, though he is concerned about high crime rates in his area.

At the school where Shiro goes a new student arrives by the name of Rin, Rin also has magical powers but is much more developed in her studies of the art, Rin Summons her servant ''Archer '' .She seems intent on seeking out other Magicians who can summon spiritual servants . Shiro is weary of Rin and he may have cause to be.

When helping someone out at school ,Shiro witnesses a fight between Archer and another servant named Lancer. As no human can bear witness to these battles Lancer gives chase and Kills Shiro.

Shocked by the incident Rin rushes to the aid of the young man ,when she sees it's Shiro ,she uses her powers to bring him back to life.

Waking up back at home Shiro is confused ,but the others know Lancer will come for him again . And it's when this happens that Shiro accidentally summons the most powerful servant of all , ''SABER'' ,Saber is the only one who can rejuvenate herself .

When Rin finds out she seems bemused as she had wanted to summon Saber herself and can't understand how a novice like Shiro could. She Takes shiro to the Quests overseer ,a priest who shall enlighten him to the goal of the quest for the grail.

When another Master and Servant appear , it looks like Rin and Shiro have a fight on their hands, one IIIYASSVIEL VON EINZBERN and her servant ''Berserker '' attack in a frenzy ,when Saber counters and gets injured ,Shiro miraculously gets angry and tries to protect Saber , getting badly wounded again, Rin and the other servants are shocked ,but even more so when next day Shiro is more or less fully recovered with his wounds healed as if by Magic.

This more or less cover the first four episodes of the series and is a quite gripping viewing , I was quite surprised by the intensity of the series and it's story . I will try and cover the next part in the next update ,But if your into Anime I would say this is a definite watch thus far.
