Old School Kung Fu or Gung Fu as many say, is a a period in Asian cinema history that gave us many traditional stories as films from Shaw Brothers and Golden Harvest turned out film after film about Legendary folk heroes and tales of the past Chinese histories.
Other stories evolved around the student teacher scenario or a evil Kung Fu master who would go around killing people and the hero who at all costs would stop him.Many of these films where turned out in Taiwan and as well and many within budget studios who had their own stars to earn money at the box office.
So from a craze started by Jimmy Wang Yu /Bruce Lee and Lo Lieh we look back at some of these classic films from the late sixties which thrived right up to the birth of the modern actioneer and New Wave Kung Fu in the early 80's.
