Play Expo Blackpool / Wii U,PS4,Xbox One at war

Hello all ,i know not been on here in a short while, but been busy at compliling a dedicated gaming site for the K.I.T.G. Group.

Anyhow quite a lot has happened over the past three months ,well in one way but nothing to get to excited about.

Yes the PS4 is selling like hotcakes ,but why is the question, with very little exclusive content and most of the big new games coming to PS3 and 360 anyway it seems spending all those bucks on a new console to play something you could have played on your old one makes no sense to me.

To the same extent it applies to the Xbox One to with only the recent Titanfall giving any reason to own the console (though even that's on 360 and PC) ,also the recent price drop on the Xbox may have sold a few more consoles to ,though i feel sorry for those who only three months ago spent £429 on the console only and if they had waited could have got the console with Titanfall for £399. .

£399.99 with Tiatnfall - not bad if you ask us.

Of course the current gen console with the best games line up now is the Humble Wii U ,which still struggles to gain ground and is fighting a losing battle against the competiton.

But then Nintendo always said they where not in competetion with the other two.

Wii U has a stella line up of  games inc Mario 3D World, Sonic Lost World, Wii U party and the recent Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze.

We can't wait for Eight

With Mario Kart 8 just 7 weeks away it should be a interesting time for gamers.

Wii U also has a lot of indie games in the pipeline ,as does the PS4

Of course the Wii U biggest problem is third party surport but  Owners have Lego Hobbit and Amazing Spiderman 2 coming before Mario Kart 8 ,so at least  that's a couple of games to look forward to.

But fear not you can get back to your roots in gaming by visiting the Play Expo in Blackpool on the bank holiday weekend of May 3rd and 4th.

Being held at Norbreck Castle Exhibition Centre , get to grips with that Coleco vision console you yearned for as a child or play some retro Imports on the classic PC engine or relive your youth on the classic consles of our time from the Snes,Megadrive,NES ,Dreamcast and many more .for more info visit the official site below.

PSY adament he was not at Cannes this year

PSY was at the Cannes film festival this year ,mixing with the stars and living the high life, but truth be told when people got reports that the South Korean Rapper was thousands miles away in Singapore the cookie was crumbled.

A look a like had gone to Cannes and passed himself of as the Korean Rapper who has become a worldwide star since his single Gangnam style went global last year.

For two days the imposter lived it up ,mixing with the stars and getting a free ride ,with meals and drinks.

It was PSY that saw reports of himself being at Canne that sparked the security scare that a imposter was on the loose ,but for two days the security personel were treating the guy like a mega star .

PSY was not impressed ,thinking what damage a guy like this could do for his career.

Hmmm! who can i be i wonder. This year McDonalds next year Cannes.

You gotta Laugh .

Sertes ...

London has been the source of good underground Martial arts film events for many years, Eastern Heroes,Beymark International,Shaolin Club put on many events during the 80's/90's . It popularised the genre and made it more mainstream and accessable to all.

Of course the internet has made finding those old films and trinkets easier. ,Events still happen ,but with the genre of Asian cinema being more global the events are lavish affairs now ,with the Terracotta Film Festival and Korean film festivals taking pride of place in everyones diary.

But how about a place you can go ,whatever night and meet and mix with Eastern Action fans ,while having some munch and a drink.

Well one man by the name of Sipheng You has started a crowdfunder at Indiegogo for such a place in London.

Go check out the crowdfunder page and see if it's something you would indulge in.

Ryo Hazuki is Back ! No not in Shenmue 3 ,but as a figurine

Posted by Bruno B on May 1, 2013 at 9:35 PM Comments comments (0)

Ryo Hazuki the main protagonist in the 1999  Dreamcast game Shenmue is back , but for fans of the series i'm sorry to say that where not talking Shenmue 3. Where not even talking a guest appearence in a new SEGA game ,of which he has starred previously like in Sonic and All stars racing.

Hell i would be excited if they featured him in a new Virtua Fighter game ,but no .

SEGA in association with First 4 Figures are launching two collectable figurines which feature Ryo in a pose, standing in at a whole one foot tall these limited edition figures come in two versions. A standard base version and a special edition with Ryo standing on a Phoenix Mirror.

Now these pre order figures are not pocket money toys ,coming in at approxiamately $170 for the standard and $184 for the Phoenix mirror version. So that's about £100 each ,but i'm sure importers in the UK will put a hefty profit on that if anybody in the UK requires one.

Even though it's nice to see such collectables ,closer look at these particular ones gives  away a clue that Ryo may have been slacking in his training since the end of Shenmue 2. Ryo looks slightly podgy and fuller in the face then i remember him being.

Any Shenmue news always gets the internet buzzing and the SEGA fans typing ,but i can't see many forking out such a high price for a figurine of the intrepid Ryo Hazuki when facially the figure is not quite perfect.

I would actually gladly pay £100 for a copy of Shenmue 3 ,but for a Figurine that just about facially bears a resembelance to our hero ,i don't think so.

Korean Film extravaganza and a Legend Passes

So of course you want to know what's going on over the next few weeks , but first the sad news last month Karate Legend Joe Lewis passed away after battling Brain Cancer ,he had a tumor removed in 2011 and doctors believed they had removed it all but in May this year he fell ill again and passed away this August . We will be doing a retrospective of his life on site that will go live in about a week or so.

The Late Great Joe Lewis who passed away end of August

Also unfortunalty staying with the not so happy news is that Gordon Liu (SAN-TE) famous for his roles in the 36th Chamber of Shaolin and numerous Shaw Brothers classics as well as his role as the leader as the head of the Crazy 88's in Kill Bill is still in a bad way after his Stroke last year ,confined to a wheel chair ,he has cut himself of from the world and the only contact with the celebrity world are two of his closest friends who visit him of which one is Leung Kan Yan.

There is still hope that he may walk again after he lost movement in one side of his body ,and said he has shown improvement. We wish him well.

I hope all get to see him in his last film role ,in a Martial arts action film called ''Kill'em All'' ,still to be released look out for it, of note it also stars the Late Joe Lewis who  made the film before he fell ill again.

Now also this month look out for a Korean film extravaganza , we will showcase a handful of Korean films with the first already up ( Sword with No Name) our next feature review is the Thai/Korean co-production starring a mainly Korean Cast and directed in Thailand by prachya Pinkaew and action by Panna Rittikrai. Yes it's The Kick ,which also stars Petchtai Wongkamlao and Jeeja Yanin .

Crying Fist ,part of our Ryoo Seung-Wan feature appearing soon

After this we cover a selection of films by Ryoo Seung-Wan in a retrosective of his career.

Game wise our big feature this month is a look at Dreamcast classic ''SHENMUE'' a game so real your forget your own life, plus look out for news of Shenmue HD on XBOX live and the Playstation  Network..

There's also a couple of other surpises in store as well ,but hey we need some surprises.

Till next time ,Take Care,Stay Well,,Keep Fit and May it be Well with You.
